Vhong has girl-problems like Nicolas

Aside from Bea Alonzo, another actor to undergo a look transformation for the upcoming comedy teleserye I Love Betty La Fea is Vhong Navarro. Although he looks very different from Nicolas, Vhong says there are similarities between him and his character. "’Pag dating sa panliligaw hindi tayo nalalayo kay Nicolas. Ilang beses na rin ako nabasted noon, kahit hanggang ngayon," Vhong says with a laugh. However, the dancer-comedian refuses to elaborate about his current dating status and would rather talk about his excitement over I Love Betty La Fea.

Vhong reveals that he is very much comfortable to be playing the ugly, but cunning best friend of Betty. "Sanay naman ako sa mga ganitong characters. Nung nagsisimula ako ganito rin yung mga roles na pino-portray ko, kung hindi bading, nerd. Excited ako kasi ngayon may maidadagdag ako sa mga characters ko, may bago naman. Pareho rin kami ni Nicolas na kalog at sira-ulo kung mag-isip," the actor shares. Vhong says that he also plans to incorporate his own brand of comedy into the character so he doesn’t focus on copying the original Nicolas, thereby giving more than what is expected by viewers.

Vhong feels honored and challenged to playing someone as intricate and colorful as Nicolas. "Si Nicolas kasi yung lalaking Betty, pareho silang may goals na gustong abutin at parehong mapagmahal sa magulang. Pero ang pinagkaiba nila e si Betty hindi naghahangad na makapag-asawa ng gwapo. Si Nicolas kasi ang gusto niyang mapang-asawa yung maganda," he describes.
The actor also confesses that it may be possible for him to fall in love with a woman who looks like Betty. But when it comes to true love, Vhong only has one condition: "Ang gusto ko yung mamahalin ako sa kung sino ako."
