In Polish Betty is Brzydula!

Poland's adaptation of the Betty story, Brzydula (Ugly), premieres in September 2008 on the TVN network. This version stars Julia Kamińska as Uli Cieplak and Marek Włodarczyk as her father, Józefa. Ula works at a prestigious Warsaw fashion house called Domu Mody Febo & Dobrzański

Trivia

The show's title is a play on words, because it contains a form of the heroine's name, Brzyd-Ula. In Polish, a person's name will change depending on the context of its usage within a sentence. For example, sometimes Uli is Ula, and sometimes Marek is Marka. Determining which name to use depends on whether the person being referred to is the active subject or the passive object of the sentence.
