Question & Answer: The Brain Behind "I Love Betty La Fea" Ecomoda Manila Set

An Exclusive Interview with Nerbert John Ku
by: ilovebettylafea.blogspot.com

Nerbert John Ku is 30 years old, BS in Architecture graduate of Saint Louis University and he have been working for 5 years now with Dream Weavers Visual Exponents ABS-CBN as a Set and Production Designer. His expertises are in architectural designs, interior designs, set design, production design, art direction and artworks.

1. Can you tell us how do you brainstorm in designing a set. How do you handle an artist block.

What I usually do is I study the show’s theme, concept then from there I derive my designs.
With the Betty La fea set, I envisioned this to be modern, classy and hip so I started working with schematic drawings, sketches, perspectives and scale model for the ECOMODA MANILA set with the supervision of Mr Edmund Ty - President of Dream Weavers, Ms. Beth Syte - Head Consultant and with the help of Pags Dela Cruz my Associate. Designer. After finishing all designs we sought for approval of the finished works to the Production Team of the show, as the Set Designer of the show I presented my work to Chris Echker the Production Designer of Betty La Fea to match his art direction on the set.

This is what I envisioned and presented the set would be:
  • A unique design for an advertising agency, a clean ambience and conducive planning for this office and will highlight every area of the office with its accent shades of pink, blue, and lime
  • Every office or area should match with the character of each cast.
  • Since the office will be used on TV, I made sure that the camera will capture every single detail of the office.
  • An artists block? Hahaha lagi ngyayari sakin yan specially if I’m pressured, yung tipong ngayon palang binigay sayo yung requirements tapos kailangan na mamaya if not bukas? What I usually do is I go to kitchen, make a cup of coffee...then watch a movie while savouring and taking a sip....kahit anong palabas basta may naririnig lang ako...I’m not in the sofa or where else relaxing but instead in-front of my table while doing my stuff....then viola! Balik work na...ganun kasimple...isa lang gusto ko, walang mangungulit! Kaya laging may nakasabit sa work area ko, WALANG LALAPIT!!! Hahahaha
2. Prior to designing Ecomoda set, what other tv/movie sets you have worked on

(click read more below to continue)

I started my work in ABS-CBN on the noon time show MTB Ang Saya saya and had the chance to work with Mr. M as my Director, I also did the Kapamilya-variety station ID entitled otso-otso, also designed opening numbers, segment game shows at MTB
Then followed by the show BORA sitcom with the hunks
Next is Pbb celebrity edition
Then homeboy,
-quizon avenue
-home along the airport
-thats my doc
-dreamboy the movie
-be bench the model search and also the grand finals staged in Araneta.
And the upcoming gag show, banana split with Kristine Reyes, Angelica Panganiban, Roxxane Guinoo and Valerie Conception.

3. What's your inspiration behind the Ecomoda set. How does it feel to work on this big budgetted project.

My inspiration in doing and designing this set is visualizing myself working in this office as the President of the company. As if I own this advertising agency office. Most of what I did on this project is the product of my own heart in designing.

Doing this project was a big opportunity for me to express my skills in designing...”Maswerte lang ako dahil I can see my work in TV” hearing all the compliments coming from the bosses, the staff and crew, mga artista, the viewers was already an accomplishment for me....A big fulfilment na parang ayaw ko ng matapos.

4. Can youn share with us an interesting or funny anecdote while working on Ecomoda Set

It was during my design stage... when I was told by my boss that i’ll be doing this project naghanap agad ako ng dvd copy ng ugly betty since wala pang available na series ng yosoy betty la fea....after watching the series, I was so excited to design the office especially for betty since sya ang bida to find out iba pala plot ng story....what I did since sya ang bida....ginandahan ko ang pagkaka design ng magiging office nya (betty) in between Armando’s office and Danielas office...sa pinaka gitna ng ecomoda office....yun pala isa syang api nasa storage room lng sya ng office ni Armando....at hindi kita from the outside...masama loob ko noon ayaw ko baguhin design ko nung pinaparevise na kasi hindi match sa story line.....hahaha feeling ko maganda na layout ko nun for bety’s office...ngayon abangan nyo nalang final layout hanapin nyo office ni betty kung pano at saan nailocate...... =)

5. Among the I Love Betty La Fea Characters, which characters you can relate most besides Betty and why?

-Armando Solis, because I also dream of having my own company, a few years from now I will also be the president of my own company, dealing with different people, closing big projects, and designing for elite group of companies. Yun lang, aside from that hindi naman ako mang aapi ng panget...hahaha

6. What advise can you give to budding interior designers.

Expose your self... Do everything for you to stand out. In this field you have to dream big para di ka mapag iwanan...There are lots of good designers out there, you have to establish yourself and mark your works with your own style and syempre your own design. Be competitive enough para mamalayan mo nalang sa sarili mo na....proud kana pala sa mga things/projects na na accomplish mo but still leave some space for suggestions and/or comments that will help you grow more and be the best that you can be.

Note: Thank you very much Nerbert John Ku for accommodating us for this exclusive interview. Separated at Birth: Anne Bolyen and Ugly Betty

Do you notice the pearl "B" necklace Betty always wear? It looks exactly the same as the famous necklace worn by Anne Boleyn, Henry VIII's 2nd wife and mother of Elizabeth I. Is it possible Betty is the long lost descendant of Anne and it was inherited to her by a royal blood relative? Naaah...no one knows what really became of Anne Boleyn's famous B pearl necklace?  However there are few reports of Queen Elizabeth 1 wearing the B necklace that was her mothers once she came to the throne. America Ferrera's necklace is just a hand sculpted replica, made to order from Parrish Relics Jewelry.

The Central Paradox: The different versions of Betty La Fea

Contributed and Written by:
Dr. Carolina Acosta-Alzuru

The Spanish newspaper El País published a story titled Hay 'feas' por todo el mundo (There are 'uglies' all over the world, describing the characteristics and success of the different remakes of Yo soy Betty, la Fea, underscoring the local differences of each of these "Bettys."

This news story generated in me two reflections:

Reflection 1.- The success of Fernando Gaitán's telenovela suggests that there are universal storylines that work everywhere. At the same time, each of these versions is adapted to the local culture that produces and consumes it. Therefore, even though all these "Bettys" use eyeglasses and sport braces, each one of them is a different version that is culturally acceptable in the social formation that consumes it. (Following are: Lisa-Germany, Katia-Russia, Jassi-India, Betty-USA, Lotte-Neatherlands, Letty-Mexico, Bea-Spain and Maria Asximi-Greece)

The success of Betty and its versions begs the question of whether her global success is due to the universal nature of the tale of the Ugly Duckling, or if it's because its versions are tailored to each culture. This question underlines one of the facets of the local-global debate that permeates the telenovela both as an industry and a form of art and entertainment.

Reflection 2.- These days the number 120 is frequently used as the standard number of episodes for a telenovela. There is such strength in this standard that many often lose sight of the fact that some stories cannot or should not be told in 120 episodes. As I read the article in El País, I couldn't help noticing that these versions of Betty are way longer than 120 episodes: Spain (300+ episodes), Germany (364), India (556), Russia (700). This presents an interesting paradox: The 120-episode standard is frequently use to gauge the "export-ability" of a telenovela. The argument is that only 120-episode telenovelas sell well in non-Latin American countries. However, when these cultures produce their own telenovelas, they are longer. What is the meaning of this apparent contradiction?

In sum, the success of Betty and its different remakes suggests a set of interesting questions re: the universal quality of storylines and their ideal length, measured in episodes, and highlights some of the paradoxes and tensions inherent to the genre.

I Love Betty La Fea throws grand press con

Source: www.abs-cbnnews.com

Beautiful actress Bea Alonzo appeared once again as herself, the lovely Bea, Thursday evening, August 28 in a grand press conference of ABS-CBN’s upcoming television show – "I Love Betty La Fea."

In the event, Alonzo shared her excitement playing the role of Betty. Alonzo would reportedly no longer be Bea but will act, speak and be seen as the deglamoralized Betty Pengson of the TV show.

The actress said that the first time she saw her face on the mirror she really exclaimed "Wow! I’m Betty-ful."

Alonzo said that aside from having fun portraying her role, she said that she is not having a hard time becoming Betty because she only needs to wear light prosthetics

(click read more below to continue)

"Actually konti lang naman iyong prosthetics na nilalagay sa akin, pinakakapal lang nila iyong kilay ko, iyong mole ko dinidikit at iyong braces lang naman talaga," explains Alonzo.

Betty admitted that for the series she watched the original Columbian version of "Betty La Fea" and the western version of it.

"Though, I was not allowed to watch the western, kasi totally different talaga pero sa sobrang curiosity pinanood ko siya at nakita ko iyong difference… pero…. Iyong Columbian iyon, iyong franchise na binili namin and it’s actually nice," she said.

It will be remembered that Alonzo’s wish was to portray the role Betty, and now her dream coming true.

"Sobrang happy, wala na akong mahihiling pa sa ngayon. Sobrang masayang-masayang ako kasi isa ito sa mga dream role, at isa siyang napakagandang character at finally makakagawa na din ang mga Pinoy ng sariling version natin ng Betty La Fea."

Back again

For some time, reports surfaced that the love team of Alonzo and long time screen partner John Lloyd Cruz is about to break up but the two proved them wrong when Cruz was announced just recently that he will be playing the role of Armando, Betty’s love interest in "I Love Betty La Fea."

One of ABS-CBN’s business heads, Mr. Deo Endrinal shared that Alonzo and Cruz have been the first choice to play the lead roles of Betty and Armando from the very beginning.

"It was just really a matter of timing, when to do the project, when to announce the completion of the cast but from the very beginning they were really our first choice," Salud said.

In a previous interview with abs-cbnNEWS.com, Cruz explained that there was really no intention to break their team up.

Grand launching

The extravagant launching of the most-awaited series started as the cast posed and walked on a fashion runway before they were seated in front of the members of entertainment media.

The catwalk of course was set within the elegant Ecomoda Manila, where most of the scenes for the series would be taped.

The fashion-show theme of the launching was completed with the presence of other show’s cast – Sam Concepcion, Ronaldo Valdez, Megan Young, Wendy Valdez, Joem Bascon, Randolf Stamatelaky, Ronnie Liang and Thou Reyes.

Also spotted in the event were Sheryn Regis, Meryll Soriano, Krystel Moreno, Arlene Tolibas, Sammy Villaresis, Ms. Flora Gasser and guest star Alessandra de Rossi.

To complete the night other lead characters -- John Lloyd Cruz, Vhong Navarro and Ms. Ruffa Gutierrez were also present.

Sam Concepcion balances showbiz, singing and school work

Source: www.ABS-CBN.com

Sam Concepcion was in high spirits when ABS-CBN.com caught up with him. He had just finished promoting his version of the single Kung Fu Fighting which was included in the original soundtrack of the Dreamworks movie Kung Fu Panda. "It was really fun doing it. Shooting the video was really, really cool. Sobrang saya. And the movie itself was so fun," he recalled.

The 15-year-old high school student is currently enrolled in a computer-based home school program as a 10th grader in the Alpha Omega Academy. "We decided to do this to make my schedule more flexible for me. But it’s really fun. I really like studying and it’s my first time to be home schooled. I have five subjects. I enjoy knowing more about world history and Spanish the most," he explains. Education, is still considered a priority for this rising star as he has also been doing school tours in relation to his appointment by the Philippine's Department of Education as the newest Youth Role Model and Spokesperson.

(click read more below to continue)

When he’s not busy with schoolwork or showbiz obligations, Sam likes staying at home watching TV or rehearsing his songs by himself. "If I don’t stay in the house, I’m probably hanging out with my friends from Trumpets or High School Musical. We like to go malling or just visiting each other’s houses," he says. The teen idol also has his share of celebrity crushes, but prefers good singers over actresses or models. "I really like JoJo. I think she’s the best 17-year-old singer and she’s really, really good. Locally, I think Nikki Gil has a beautiful voice. I tend to like girls who can sing, dance, and perform well," he shyly confesses.

Sam also joins the cast of I Love Betty La Fea in the role of Andrew, the younger brother of Betty. The teen actor is excited to be able to work with Bea Alonzo, Vhong Navarro, and most of the other members of the cast for the very first time. Sam has also been promoting his self-titled album Sam Concepcion under Universal Records which was repackaged with music videos.

Vhong Navarro on the perks of being funny

By: REYMA BUAN-DEVEZA
Source: abs-cbnNEWS.com

Actor-dancer Vhong Navarro said that talent for humor must be the reason why a lot of local female stars are attracted to him.

In an interview, Navarro said that he is flattered with reports that he is one of the showbiz crushes of actress Bea Alonzo.

“Nakakahiya. Nakakahiya pero kasi si [Bea] naman kaya noong diniscribe niya ako kung paano niya akong naging crush isa lang ang sinabi niya na ‘nakakatawa sya,’ iyon lang naman hindi naman sa looks, hindi naman ako naiilang doon kung sa looks baka pwede pa akong mailang.

(click read more below to continue)

Aside from Alonzo, actresses like Roxanne Guinoo and Valerie Concepcion publicly confessed their admiration for Navarro.

“Siguro nga nagiging crush nila ako because siguro ‘funny’ hanggang doon lang naman ako funny,” he explains.

“Siguro natatawa sila sa akin at masaya akong kasama iyon lang siguro,” Navarro added. He recently signed a contract with ABS-CBN for upcoming series “I Love Betty La Fea,” Wednesday, August 27.

“Panibagong aabangan na naman ng ating kapamilya followers, sobrang pinaganda ang ‘Betty La Fea’ ginastusan,” he said.

Navarro said that in the series he will be playing the character of Nicolas Mora, the confidant and best friend of Betty.

The actor said that he doesn’t mind being a supporting character for on-screen partners Alonzo and John Lloyd Cruz.

“Kahit supporting ka dito mapasok ka dito isang malaking karangalan iyon sa isang artista na makasama ka dito kasi hindi lang ito mapapanood sa Pilipinas mapapanood din tayo sa ibang bansa,” he said.

Right now, Navarro said that he is professionally and personally happy and enjoys his life despite that fact that he is in dealing with annulment case he filed against estranged wife Bianca Lapus. Navarro and Lapus have two kids.

Navarro started his career as a member of the dance group "Street Boys". He was then discovered by Director Chito Roño, who continues to serve as his manager.

He is well-known for his movies "Mr. Suave" and "Gagamboy". Late last year, the self-proclaimed Jim Carrey of the Philippines launched his first television series "Lastikman."

Navarro is now busy promoting his latest film "Supapahlicious", and is a regular performer of ABS-CBN’s weekly variety show "ASAP."

John Lloyd Cruz plays his opposite

By Bot Glorioso
Source: www.philstar.com

John Lloyd Cruz is not expecting it to happen so soon. That is, to be teamed up again with Bea Alonzo after starring in A Very Special Love with Sarah Geronimo that green lighted the plan for them to do projects away from each other’s shadows. It also somehow put to an acid test John Lloyd’s (but not yet for Bea) bankability with another screen partner.

But their tandem seems unbreakable as they will be paired anew on ABS-CBN’s latest upcoming TV series I Love Betty La Fea.

“And I never thought it would be this big (the project). Actually, it was never an intention to break our love team but to see what we can do individually or show that we can have other partners,” John Lloyd says.

(click read more below to continue)

Besides, their six-year team up has already created a strong foundation too tough to break due to the overwhelming support John Lloyd and Bea are getting. The two starred in the heart-wrenching love stories and feel good movies My First Romance, Now That I Have You, Close to You, All About Love, One More Chance, Kay Tagal Kitang Hinintay and Maging Sino Ka Man Book 1 & 2.

This time, televiewers will see them in a light comedy with a little touch of drama where John Lloyd looks at his character as one big challenge. He is the exact opposite of Armando Solis, the sports-minded, ladies’ man boss and love interest of Bea’s Betty La Fea. He, too, is much younger than the character played by Jorge Enrique Abello in the Colombia TV series.

But like a soldier following orders from his commander, John Lloyd welcomes the challenge of living up to the role.

“Honestly, medyo nangangapa ako. I’m starting from scratch because I didn’t get to watch any Betty La Fea episode. But since this is given to me whether I like it or not, I will do my responsibility whole-heartedly or kung di man sa umpisa, I will definitely make my way to do it. Kung ano ang ibigay, tanggap,” John Lloyd shares.

And he will do anything and everything as far as acting is concerned including playing a gay role and some nudity, if needed. This, John Lloyd feels, would show his worth more as an actor.

“It’s one of the roles I really like to do and I wish to portray as many characters as possible given the fact that actors have short life span,” he says.

He wouldn’t have second thoughts, too, especially if he is to work with Batangas Gov. Vilma Santos and direk Olive Lamasan under Star Cinema in his next movie. Here, he plays the lover of Vilma’s gay son. Shooting of some scenes will start in New York come November. Luis Manzano might play the gay son.

And if ever the part goes to Luis, would John Lloyd feel awkward doing some intimate scenes with him?

“Okay naman chest nya, gusto ko yung masarap yakapin,” John Lloyd quips.

Kidding aside, John Lloyd admits to be feeling butterflies in his stomach when cameras start grinding for the love scene. But as long as he is secure with his gender, John Lloyd says he can do the scene with any actor.

“I know Star Cinema (producer of the movie) won’t exploit its actors. This is just a portrayal of life,” relates John Lloyd.

A role that others may deem too drab or too ordinary is what John Lloyd also feels would fulfill him as an actor. He thinks playing Juan dela Cruz is harder than portraying a psycho killer or rapist.

“I want to show how guys in their 20s or 30s deal with life. Do they experiment with sex, drugs, marriage or whatever? That for me is something,” John Lloyd says.

It would make a big difference too, John Lloyd says, if he is able to continuously share whatever blessings he has the way he did when he visited the less privileged recently.

“I guess it comes with age. You are looking for a deeper purpose in life. Reaching to others and seeing their faces light up give me a different kind of high,” John Lloyd declares.

The Czech Republic's "Ošklivka Katka" (Ugly Katka) Update

Contributed by: Sizlard & Eileen of Telenovelaslatinas Forum

The Czech Republic's "Ošklivka Katka" (Ugly Katka) premiered on March 3, 2008, and starred Kateřina Janečková as Kateřina Bertoldová and Lukáš Hejlík as Tomáš Meduna, her boss at KM Styl. The Prima network originally aired two episodes per week, on Monday and Wednesday nights, with a planned run of 168 episodes. On June 6, 2008, Prima began airing three episodes per week—on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday nights at 8:00pm—in anticipation of a brief summer hiatus, which would take place from June 14 to August 25, to allow for football broadcasts to take Katka's time slot. Episodes were rerun on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, for those who missed the airings during the week.

On another note they are on episode #31 and they are following pretty close the original but kinda on a hurry.
  • Hugo  and Tomas are at the gay bar and Hugo kisses Tomas
  • Katka will be in charge while Tomas, Mark, and Marcela are gone (Paris)
  • While Katka is in charge Patrice makes her life miserable
  • Then Tomas receives a call telling him there's something wrong with the new collection.
I'm kind of surprised that they're rushing things, though.  Yo soy Betty, la fea, Ne Rodis Krasivoy, and Co Gai Xau Xi didn't get to the gay bar scene until around episode 40.  They're supposed to do 168 episodes of Katka, which is only one episode fewer than YSBLF and CGXX, so if they go too quickly, I wonder what they'll fill in the rest of the episodes with... Not a Czech Aldo Domenzain, I hope.

  • Ruffa Gutierrez admits she is scared of Bea Alonzo’s fans

    by Manila P. Santos
    Source: alpha.abs-cbn.com

In a visit to the I Love Betty La Fea set yesterday, August 20, Ruffa Gutierrez admitted to ABS-CBN.com that she is scared of how loyal Bea Alonzo fans will react to her role as Daniella, Bea’s domineering boss. "When I was first offered this role, naisip ko, ayoko maging kontrabida. Kasi nakakatakot. Baka batuhin ako ng mga fans ni Bea ng kamatis!" she says.

The former beauty queen is also very much excited to show off her colorful character. "My character is really fun to portray. Buti na lang funny siya at hindi naman masyadong kontrabida. There’s a reason why my character has this kind of attitude, so I thought I might as well play with it na. Naisip ko gagalingan ko na and I’m going to give my 200%. Hindi ko dapat gawing soft yung character kasi hindi naman talaga siya soft. I decided to just give my all and just own the character not just through the clothes she wears pero pati na rin sa actions and mannerisms niya," she shares.

(click read more below to continue)

Ruffa also went through a one-on-one acting workshop with Director Laurice Guillen to prepare for the role of the feisty Daniella. "Compulsory naman sa lahat ng cast na mag-workshop pero humingi din ako ng one-on-one with Direk Laurice kasi matagal na din akong hindi nag-drama. Gusto ko talaga mapaghusayan yung role ko. Gusto ko talaga pag-aralan para at least naman mapansion ang aking acting. Para naman maganda yung feedback. I’m receptive to that so I’m really happy na pumayag si Direk Laurice, especially with her hectic schedule and talagang masaya. Maganda yung mga ginawa namin na in-apply ko na. Alam nyo naman ako in real life, masyado akong mabait kaya mahirap sa akin ang laging galit," she shares.

Ruffa also comes to her character’s defense by saying that Daniella isn’t your typical teleserye villain. "Well she’s not the mean type na nangbubugbog or nang-aapi. Galit siya sa mga tao. Pero galit siya for a reason. Malalaman ng mga tao yun through her past," she explains.

When it comes to similarities, Ruffa says she and Daniella do have one common denominator. "I’m a character here na sort of like in real life, walang love life (laughs). Ang daming ibang focus. So there’s no time to be lonely. I just feel that I’m blessed. Siguro ngayon career ko naman ang bigyan ko ng pansin. Kasi naman for years andun ako sa Istanbul, puro pag-ibig at pamilya ang binigyan ko ng pansin. So ngayon naman ang mga anak at ang job ko," she stresses.

The doting mother of two has been working hard lately, taking care of her daughters Lorin and Venice while taping all day for the series. "Today I have 25 sequences, so it’s really difficult. We have to come in really early and finish early morning na. Pero nag-e-enjoy naman ako and so far so good," she admits.

Thanks to girlfriend, John Lloyd Cruz now a spiffy dresser

    by: Ethel Ramos (Studio Whispers)

    Source: www.malaya.com.ph

JOHN Lloyd Cruz looked every inch the executive when he met with the members of the movie press, who were invited to view his elegantly furnished office in the advertising agency, Eco Moda Manila. He was in a suit which didn’t only become him but also enhanced his looks.

All of those present agreed that since John Lloyd’s romantic liaison with Preview magazine editor Liz Dy, his fashion sense has improved tremendously.

How much has Liz influenced him, fashion wise?

"Very much," answered John Lloyd. "Although I really love clothes, para sa akin, hindi kailangan bago at mamahalin ang damit for one to look good. Kailangan lang bagay ito sa may suot at alam din nitong dalhin ang kanyang suot."

(click read more below to continue)

As Armando Solis in the teleserye, "Betty la Fea," John Lloyd is the big boss of Eco Moda. Thus, he needs not just to be a neat and good dresser but he has to epitomize geniality and gentility. He has to exude a "kakaibang" allure.

Handsome, smart and educated, Armando knows his assets. But he also has his bad traits. He is a certified chick boy and somewhat arrogant.

Betty, played by Bea Alonzo, is Armando’s exact opposite. She and her family live a hand-to-mouth existence, unlike Armando, who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. It was through sheer patience and with the support of her parents that she was able to finish her studies.

Betty is also kind-hearted, hardworking and is always smiling and happy. Though far from being good-looking, she knows she will succeed.

"I’m so glad that Lloydie (John Lloyd’s pet name) is playing Armando. Like in out past team-ups, alam kong we will again make it," said Bea.

Unilever turns Ugly Betty "Chou Nu Wu Di" into China brand vehicle

    by: Ella Fitzsimmons
    Source: Brand Republic

BEIJING - Unilever’s partnership with Beijing Nesound and Hunan Satellite TV’s remake of classic telenovela Yo soy Betty, la fea - which in its US incarnation spawned the hit show Ugly Betty - is hoping to inject renewed vigour into the multinational’s famed Dove brand in China and sister brands Clear and Lipton’s Milk Tea.

While dramas in China usually only run for three months, the series is set to run for five seasons with over 500 episodes, making this Unilever’s most extensive content initiative globally.

The brand campaigns will be closely aligned with an integrated push leading up to the launch of the show in September, as suspense builds over who will play the title character of Betty.

The actress, who is reputedly being hidden from the public until the launch of the show, lies at the centre of the run-up campaign, which has already included an official opening by the governor of Hunan.

Though Dove’s ‘Campaign for real beauty’ has been very popular elsewhere in the world among feminists and consumers alike, it has struggled to gain traction in China’s booming beauty industry. The Chinese version of Ugly Betty is expected to remain more true to the original’s idea of Betty being distinguished by her inner - or ‘real’ - beauty.

“This version will continue to ask the questions ‘What is confidence? What is beauty?’ while being more romantic,” said Mateo Eaton, managing director at MindShare Performance which is working with Unilever. Characters will be associated with products, both in the actual show and through use in advertising around the show. Betty’s character will be associated with Dove while her boss, Fernando, will be associated with Clear.

Anthea Foong, associate planning director at MindShare Performance said: “Betty has a beautiful heart, which makes her a really good fit with Dove. But anti-dandruff shampoo Clear, which was launched in China last year, is aimed at a primarily male, urban audience.

“Lipton’s Milk Tea fits well too, because they will be taking tea breaks in the office,” said Foong, adding that the show will emphasise improved moods among Betty and her colleagues following tea breaks. Unlike the US version, where Betty works at fashion magazine Mode, the Chinese Betty will work at an advertising agency.

“This offers a natural integration with different products,” said Eaton. Future products are rumoured to include high-end watches, such as Patek Philippe.

John Lloyd Cruz reunites with Bea Alonzo in I Love Betty La Fea

    By: Walden Sadiri
    Source: Manila Bulletin Online

After a successful team-up with Sarah Geronimo in "A Very Special Love," John Lloyd Cruz is back in the arms of Bea Alonzo as Armando in ABS-CBN’s upcoming TV series "Betty La Fea." Both John and Bea temporarily parted ways as one of showbiz's most popular loveteams after they decided to shoot movies individually.

"It was never the intention to break-up the love team. Actually before our movie ‘One More Chance,’ the intention was that we’ll do projects individually pero hindi naman po para paghiwalayin ang team-up," he explained.

The Bea-John Lloyd loveteam produced such hit movies as "My First Romance," "Now That I Have You," "Close To You," "All About Love" and "One More Chance." On television, their tandem was seen in "It Might Be You" and "Ikaw Ang Lahat Sa Akin" to name a few.

"I don’t think mapaghihiwalay mo pa yun," said John. John stressed that the box office success of his film with Sarah is not even enough proof that he can stand without Bea or even be successful with other leading ladies in the future.

"Parang nakaka-enganyo at parang nabibighani ka sa sayang nararamdaman mo," expressed John Lloyd proudly of his title. "To do a film that’s Rated-A is already okay. Pero mas masarap ang pakiramdam kapag mas maraming nanunuod. Kahit sabihin na nating hindi mo basis yun of your good work, pero iba sa aming mga artista na magbayad ka ng ticket para manudo ka ng pelikula namin. Ibang saya ang naibibigay sa amin!"

John said there's always something new with him and Bea despite the fact that they've done several movies and TV shows. "Everytime na magsasama kami sa isang bagong project parang bago lahat. Ang maganda lang at ease and comfortable na kayo sa isa’t-isa. Kung baga ano yan mag unite ang dalawang bagong characters na i-portray ninyo so parang lahat bago. So parang ako hindi pa naman kami nakikila bilang Armando at di pa siya nakilala bilang Betty so yun ang bago. Other than that sa labas ng mga characters ganun pa din or even better kami,’ he said.

John said he already knew he was cast in "I Love Betty la Fea" when he was already promoting his movie "A Very Special Love." But he couldn’t talk about it since it was improper. He admitted that he has never seen an epsiode of "Ugly Betty" or "Betty La Fea." Yet it would be helpful for him as an actor if he did see one. "So start from scratch ako so medyo hirap pa. But with the help of my directors, tulong-tulong kami. Hopefully mabigyang justice," he quipped.

So would there be any adjustments?

"Malaking adjustments especially coming from a film which is an entirely different medium kasi parang hindi mo alam kung nag over acting ka ba or kulang. Personally dun nanggagaling struggles ko yung hirap ko sa set. Kami naman as a team-up parang mas madaling umiyak, magpaiyak kasi ang hirap magpatawa and magpatawa nang totoo ang ginagawa ninyo. We welcome the challenge. Ang maganda kasi dito nasa isang soap opera ka ibig sabihinm mabibigyan kayo ng panahon para ma-establish yun and mahasa yun," he said.

Isn’t he too young to play Armando?

"I think they based it yata sa hairline ko," laughed John. "Honestly hindi ko po alam kung bakit ako kinuha. Like what I’ve said earlier hindi ko alam na mas matanda pala. Well kung titignan naman mukha akong mas matanda kay Bea. Pero hindi ko alam kung anong reason nila." He also remarked that he is as surprised as anyone when he landed the role of Armando. "Kahit gaano ko kagusto yung role or gaano ko siya hindi gusto gawin, I’m a soldier of the company. Kung anong trabahong ibigay sa akin gagawin ko yun whole heartedly. Kung hindi man wholeheartedly at the beginning I will definitely make my way through it. Kung anong ibigay, tanggap. kung anong nangyayari sa yo ngayon yun ang what’s best for you," he said.

John is looking forward to a movie with no other than Batangas Gov. Vilma Santos who has expressed her willingness to shoot a movie with the current box-office sensation.

"I Love Betty La Fea" lead stars take center stage at the Rockwell Tent

Kapamilya stars take center stage at the Rockwell Tent

A different kind of fun and excitement filled the air as the Kapamilya stars gathered during the network’s trade event held last Thursday (August 21) at Rockwell Tent.

Roxanne Guinoo, Angelica Panganiban, Cristine Reyes, Riza Santos, Princess Ryan, and Diane Medina boldly gave a glimpse of what’s to come in Banana Split through their hot production number. The men could hardly take off their eyes from these sexy ladies who promised to bring lots of laughter and mischief in the first ever all-girls gag show in the country.

But when John Lloyd Cruz came out as the dashing Armando Solis of I Love Betty La Fea, it was the women’s turn to shriek with the thrill of seeing their celebrity crush onstage. Even his hilarious dance routine with Bea Alonzo—who’s also in character—brought more cheers from the audience. It was hilarious seeing them portray their roles very well especially when John Lloyd greeted ABS-CBN SVP for Entertainment Cory Vidanes in a casual manner, as if they were mere cronies (him being the President of Eco Moda Manila).

Afterwards, a blooming Judy Ann Santos sat down for an interview with the lovely hosts for the night Bianca Gonzales and Mariel Rodriguez. With Humingi Ako Sa Langit coming soon on ABS-CBN, she talked about how happy she is to work with hunk actors Derek Ramsay and Will Devaughn. Judy Ann further claimed that being paired with Derek never caused an issue of jealousy between their real-life sweethearts since they are secured and happy with their respective relationships.

By the time Maricel Soriano took on the hot seat, all eyes were on her as she radiated beauty, confidence, and wit of a true Diamond Star. Even Bianca was awestruck as Maricel reminisced her heydays with former onscreen partner William Martinez, her co-star in the last instalment of The Susan Roces Cinematic Collection: Florinda. Aside from their reunion in his drama/suspense thriller, she claimed that viewers should also watch out for her remarkable scenes with her young co-stars Roxanne Guinoo, Zanjoe Marudo, and Nikki Gil.

Other entertaining parts of the program included Kitchie Nadal and Mark Abaya’s live performance of the OST of Humingi Ako Sa Langit. Pinoy Dream Academy host Billie Crawford also jazzed things up with his cool intermission number. Another highlight was the arrival of the ever fashionable Pokwang, whose comical quips never failed to entertain her enthralled audience. The comedienne joined Mariel and Bianca as they capped off the very successful trade event with the official kick-off of National Bingo, the newest game show coming soon on ABS-CBN.

Meet the Pengson Family in I Love Betty La Fea

    La Familia Pengson

    Beatriz "Betty" Pengson
Betty is loved by her family. She in turn, will do anything and everything for them.
Watch out for in the show is when Betty's family uncovers a deception that she pulled
off "in the name of love".

    Hermes Pengson
Betty's father will be played by veteran actor Ronaldo Valdez, who takes on the role
of a "houseband" for the first time in his career. His attitude borders on being
over-protective toward his daughter and fears the day that Betty will fall in love.

    Julia Pengson
AiAi delas Alas plays Betty's mother Julia Pengson. In her eyes, her husband Hermes
can do no wrong. She believes that is not impossible for Betty to find her Prince
    Charming

    Andrew Pengson
Betty's younger brother is to be played by Sam Concepcion. He stands out from the rest of
Familia Pengson as he appears to be a black sheep of the family.

...And as in most fairytales--despite of trials and misunderstanding--and La Familia Pengson is definitely one -- they live happily ever after.

Wendy Valdez plays Patricia, the office ‘queen of mean’, with no fear in I Love Betty La Fea

    By Napoleon Quintos
    Source: beta.abs-cbn.com

Many actors in the past have been hated by audiences after playing a kontrabida role. But Wendy Valdez does not share such concern as she takes on the role of Patricia, the office ‘queen of mean’ in the much anticipated I Love Betty La Fea. During the special press visit at the EcoModa Manila office set, ABS-CBN.com spoke to Wendy about her newest TV character.

"Bakit pa ako magwo-worry. Kung maling accusations nga na-carry ko, ito pa kaya e role lang ito. I think with my role as Patricia people would understand kasi mas open-minded na sila. I am portraying Patricia but they know that I am not Patricia." she said with reference to the negative image she had in the past.

(click read more below to continue)

Wendy became a household name when she caused a huge public uproar for her stint in Pinoy Big Brother Season 2 last year. In spite winning as 3rd Big Placer in the hit reality show, the beauty queen-commercial model was booed by the whole Araneta Coliseum because of her highly publicized fight with the other housemates. But instead of mourning over the incident, Wendy kept her head up high and never looked back since then. She went on to star in numerous teleseryes beginning with Margarita (where she played the title role), then Palos opposite Cesar Montano, and Your Song presents I’ll Take Care Of You with Zanjoe Marudo and Angelica Panganiban.

"I don’t want to dwell in the past. Maganda ang mga nangyayari sa buhay ko ngayon. Though people will always have something bad to say about me, it doesn’t matter for as long as hindi ako apektado sa mga sinasabi nila. Basta nagtatrabaho ako ng maayos." she said.

Wendy could only be thankful for having been entrusted with the best projects, something she never planned or expected. She would rather not make an issue about outshining her other PBB batch mates, most of whom she still treat as friends up to now. Just last week at the party of TJ Cruz, the brother of ex-housemate Bodie, Wendy was reunited with her other PBB colleagues Bruce, Gee-Ann, Nel, Saicy, Jasmine, Mommy Yen, and Mommy Gie.

Watch out for Wendy as Patricia when I Love Betty La Fea debuts very soon. Check out www.ABS-CBN.com and ilovebettylafea.multiply.com for exclusive news, photos, and videos

"Armando Solis" star John Lloyd Cruz on team-ups and improvement of his craft

John Lloyd on team-ups: ‘Mas maganda kung ma-ipair ako sa iba-iba’
    By Rachelle Siazon
    Source: beta.abs-cbn.com

Once and for all, John Lloyd Cruz clarified that every career move he makes is aimed towards the improvement of his craft. This included his desire to be paired up with other female stars other than his long-time onscreen partner, Bea Alonzo.

"Sabi ko nga bago pa namin ginawa yung One More Chance magandang opportunity for me and Bea na malaman for ourselves kung ano ang magagawa namin. Because for the longest time, sobra kaming naging dependent sa isa't-isa eh. Parang kahit anong gawin namin, nahihirapan kami ‘pag hindi kami magkasama," John Lloyd disclosed during his press con yesterday (August 20) at Eco Moda Manila. Fortunately, his team-up with Sarah Geronimo via A Very Special Love proved to be a perfect opportunity for him to test the waters. "Medyo daring yung step na ginawa namin pero there's no other way. Dapat talaga namin i-take ang step na yun kung ‘di, dun nalang tayo sa safe, sa alam nating tatanggapin [ng tao]," he added.

(click read more below to continue)

But even with the unexpected success of his current movie, John Lloyd disproved other people’s perception that Bea’s the one who needs him more to sustain her stardom. "Hindi naman siguro. She can definitely stand without me. At ako naman, hindi naman sapat ang isang pelikula para sabihin natin na kaya ko na," he exclaimed. More importantly, John Lloyd believed that they both owe it to their respective fans to nurture their much-loved tandem. "Ayaw naman namin na parang bigla nalang sirain o buohin yung foundation na naitayo na namin between us and our supporters. Medyo mahirap isipin yun. So wala talaga sa intenyson namin ni Bea or ng company (ABS-CBN) na paghiwalayin yung team-up," he clearly stated.

Movie with Gov. Vi. His ability to make it on his own was simply evident since his upcoming film with the Star For All Seasons is already in the works. "I think may sisimulan kami sa November pero hindi pa yun tuloy-tuloy. May isu-shoot lang kami sa New York," he divulged. Just the thought of it, however, had made him feel weak-kneed as early as now. "Kasi first time ko with Ate Vi and Direk Olive (Lamasan) so good luck sa ‘kin." The idea of portraying a gay role (possibly opposite Luis Manzano who’ll be playing Vilma Santos’s son) for the said film excites him though. "Gusto ko yun dahil feeling ko marami akong maibubuhos. Feeling ko kasi sinusukat niya (gay role) yung kaya mo ibigay as an actor, china-challenge ka ba," he noted.

Team-up with Angel. John Lloyd also confirmed more of ABS-CBN management’s ambitious plans for him this year. "Alam ko magkakaroon kami (he and Angel Locsin) ng project together and I’m very excited na makatrabaho siya. Alam ko gagawa din kami ng Maaalaala Mo Kaya this September." Will this be some kind of a trial test too similar to his team-up with Sarah? "Actually dati, hindi kasama sa plano na parang itetest kami ni Sarah. Kumbaga, gumawa lang talaga kami ng pelikula. Pero ito, naka-plano talaga na gumawa kami ng pelikula ni Angel at alam ko meron ding teleserye," he confided. As far as he knows, Angel had expressed her wish to work with him even before, and vice versa. "Nasa kabila pa lang siya, very vocal na ako na makatrabaho siya," he shared.

His secret to success. Coupled with the clamour for him to do a follow-up movie with Sarah, the press couldn’t help but wonder why many people support his projects whoever his onscreen partner is. What is it that sets him apart from other talented actors? John Lloyd simply explained, "Bukod sa gwapo kong mukha, siguro yung sincerity na ino-offer ko sa audience ko. Magmula dati with Ciara (Sotto), never ko namang itinago [yung love life ko]. Nagkaron ako ulit ng girlfriend (Liz Uy), hindi ko naman inilihim. Kasi alam ko napakaliit ng Pilipinas at imposibleng hindi nila malaman ang totoo. I don’t wanna find myself on TV saying na, ‘We’re just friends. Hindi po ‘yan totoo. ‘Wag kayong maniwala’ para protektahan yung career ko. Because in a way, kapag niloko mo yung audience mo, naniniwala ako na yun din ang babalik sayo," he aptly ended.

John Lloyd Cruz says he’s willing to play gay roles

    Source: news.abs-cbn.com

ABS-CBN's leading man for the TV series "I Love Betty La Fea" actor John Lloyd Cruz revealed to abs-cbnNEWS.com that one of his dreams is to play a gay character.

"It's one of the roles na gusto kong magawa...ang sa akin ang dream ko is to be able to portray as many characters as possible yun lang kasi masyadong maiksi ang life span naming mga actors," Cruz told abs-cbnNEWS.com in an interview.

Cruz said that he is really asking for characters that would be considered off-beat compared to his usual roles.

"Yung portrayal ng buhay sa totoong buhay ng 20 or 30 years old kung nage-experiment sila about sex, drugs or marriage, kung anuman, yun ang gusto kong i-portray."

Cruz told the news site that doing a different role like being a gay man, would definitely give him a sense of fulfillment as an actor.

(click read more below to continue)

"Oo everytime pero yun din na-realize ko na madali para sa aming mga artista na humiling or makaisip na mag-portray ng something off beat para maiba. Pero na-realize ko na after doing 'One More Chance,' 'A Very Special Love,' playing these characters na hindi ganoon ka off beat actually parang common people pa nga yun pala yung mas mahirap,” Cruz said.

The actor said that a lot of stars are trying to stay away from doing common characters and would jump into roles like psycho killer or rapist but for him he believed that it's much harder to portray common people’s lives.

According to Cruz, he will be doing a film under Star Cinema with local showbiz’ Star for All Season and current Batangas governor Vilma Santos.

"I think may sisimulan kami by November pero hindi pa tuloy-tuloy. Kailangan lang naming i-shoot 'yung scene sa New York," he said.

Cruz said that in the film, he will be the lover of the gay son of Santos' character. According to one report, Santos' real life son actor Luis Manzano might portray her gay son on-screen.

Upon being told that Manzano might become his on-screen lover for the film, Cruz responded by joking, “Okay naman yung chest niya, mahilig siyang mag-gym, gusto ko yung masarap yakapin."

Cruz said that if ever Luis Manzano will get the role, he will definitely be comfortable working with Manzano--though he believes that at first he will really feel awkward.

"Yung pagiging matapang sabi ko lang yon. But I'm sure kapg nandiyan na ako sa eksena kapag kaharap ko na ang lalaki kakabahan pa din ako, papawisan pa din ang palad ko. Pero gusto ko siyang gawin.

"Ako willing ako to do it kahit sinong lalaki pa as long as alam kong lalaki talaga ako," the actor explained, adding that he welcomes such a challenging role because it would bring out more of his skill as an actor.

Cruz said that with Vilma Santos as his co-star, Star Cinema as producer and Olive Lamasan as director, he is confident that viewers will support the film

"Kahit na mukhang parang off noong nai-imagine ng mga tao--pero kapag alam mong sila ang gagawa hindi ka mae-exploit. Not in anway. Hindi ka magmumukang malaswa because ang Star Cinema ay gumagawa ng pelikula kahit may ganyang eksena hindi para magbigay laswa, kung hindi portrayal yan of life. Yun lang ang gusto naming maihatid," he explained.

Cruz said that the film would be the first time for him to work with Santos and Lamasan--so he expects some jitters in the beginning. "Siyempre first time to medyo shaky ang tuhod kasi first time ko to do a film with Ate Vi. And first time to do a film with director Olive Lamasan. So isang malaking good luck kay John Lloyd," he said.

John Lloyd Cruz is the incomparable Prince of Drama of ABS-CBN.com

    By Rachelle Siazon
    Source: www.ABS-CBN.com

It seems that John Lloyd Cruz’s popularity among the Filipino viewers remains unequaled as he ultimately lands the number one spot in the search for ABS-CBN.com’s Prince of Drama. He garnered a whopping 53% share of votes from the thousands of online fans who flocked the Team Kapamilya Multiply Site for the poll. Many responders noted that John Lloyd has already proven that he’s "the best actor of them all" and should have been dubbed as not just the Prince but the "King of Drama". A notion which isn’t far-fetched for the versatile actor has won lots of Best Actor awards for Maging Sino Ka Man, It Might Be You, and Tabing Ilog; Best Single Performance by a Lead Actor for Maalaala Mo Kaya (Skating Rink); Prince of RP Movies for Now That I Have You, Best Supporting Actor for Dubai, and Box Office King for One More Chance among others.

These recognitions paved the way for him to establish an enviable status in showbiz. Yet he kept his feet on the ground through the years, much to his fans’ admiration. "He has always been a down-to-earth person in spite of all the success he has [achieved] and perhaps that's why he's been very blessed all this time," remarked Arlenetp, one of the responders in the ‘Prince of Drama’ survey. Alter07ego was also all praises for his idol, "John Lloyd all the way! He can [surpass] any challenge that is presented to him!" The girls on the other hand couldn’t help but gush about John Lloyd’s heart-melting traits, "JLC parin :) Lahat nasa kanya na—good looking, magaling umarte, malakas ang dating…basta kakakilig siya tumitig," Lestsky exclaimed.

Other huge contenders for the much-coveted title were Sam Milby who finished second with 34% share of votes and Gerald Anderson who won third place with his considerable 12% average. Though this poll had officially ended yesterday, August 19, you can still share your thoughts about your favorite leading men on Team Kapamilya Multiply Site. Till our next poll Kapamilya!

A Peep at Bea Alonzo’s Peak

    by Bobby T. Yalong
    Source: asianjournal.com

Learning the ropes of the trade at an early age unexpectedly developed movie aspirant Bea Alonzo’s (baptized Fhylbert Angellie Fagestrom) aspiration to someday make it big in the topsy-turvy world of make-believe that is showbusiness. Since her dreamy days of youthful wishes, young Bea’s focus had been to enter the movies. Her treaded path was instantly paved for her by a known fashion designer who spotted her in one of the small-town beauty contests she joined and after a talent manager introduced her to Channel 2’s talent honcho, her inclusion in Star Circle Batch 10 opened the doors to all opportunities awaiting her. From there, Bea gradually attained what she had since wished for --- to be a big time star!

(click read more below to continue)

Bea Alonzo may look contentedly happy, affluently classy, and unapproachably elite but this façade is exactly the opposite of what’s deep inside her. The harrowing memories of the youthful years buried a lingering bitter past that she holds inconspicuously within… giving her enough strength to take up whatever challenge comes her way… giving her the shield when reality befalls her… serving as the much-needed stepping stone for her to aim high… and lifting her spirit to attain the goals she always dreamt about.

The untimely separation of her mother from her British father when she was barely four years old fueled her helpless innocence from an almost dying ember into a huge conflagration. Her young dreams were almost aborted and her frail life, shuttered. But she managed to collect all the hopes she could muster and threw away all her fears. Dauntless and focused, the young Bea was made mature by her faith and a firm grasp to her destiny… and the realization of her dreams came true during the time when she least expected it. Call it fate… call it coincidental… but who could argue with destiny when it was bound to happen?

From the darkest shadows of her jilted past Bea draws her inspiration and the needed emotion everytime the situation calls for it. “I feel like having a bank of sentimentalities where I can withdraw any mood that I need… and it works effectively well in my favor!”

Her thespian ability was put to test, when at age 15, she was assigned the role of a lawyer in a TV drama series, “Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay.” Call it sheer luck or she must have really exerted the best efforts to deliver what was expected of her… and a Best Actress nomination from the PMPC All Star Awards paid off all her hard work and seriousness in her craft. The reward for her immeasurable dedication to what she loves doing best guttered out the ill feeling that occasionally refluxes. Slowly, she redeems the self-esteem and confidence she almost lost.

Pairing her opposite debonair John Lloyd Cruz, Channel 2’s male bet in the dramatic genre, inevitably established a loveteam that attracted the biggest following among the studio’s roster of teamed talents. Aside from the teleserye that fervidly developed their unshakable team-up like “It Might Be You”, Ikaw Ang Lahat Sa Akin”, and “Maging Sino Ka man”, the movies like “My First Romance”, “Now That I Have You”, “Close To You”, “All About Love” and “One More Chance”, played vital elements to make the partnership more solid and their box-office appeal even much stronger.

Because Bea is by nature adventurous and capable of doing whatever she knows she could and to prove her star status as a versatile performer, aside from her already proven acting and dancing skills, she utilizes her vocal cords to the fullest… earning for herself a debut album aptly entitled “The Real Me”, released under Star records. Not a few wannabe singers, and even established recording talents in and out of her Mother Studio, got intimidated and insecure with Bea’s soulful renditions of almost every cut in the album. Her vocal range transcends the common level of a recording newbie, making her sound like a long-time pro in the field. This marked another epoch not only in her life but in the tin-pan alley, as well. Every sentimental journey back to her fateful yesteryears effectively unleashes her diverse emotions making “The Real Me” honestly giving away the real Bea.

It is quite surprising for such a not-so-mature actress to deliver a gamut of emotions coupled with her innate acting intensified by précised movements and complex internalization. “She acts with the intensity of a veteran even if she’s actually a relative greenhorn!” That’s Phil. Star columnist Ricky Lo commenting. But for Director Don Cuaresma, here’s what he has to say: “She has the mass appeal of Sharon Cuneta, the intensity of Maricel Soriano and the acting range of Lorna Tolentino!”

Bea Alonzo has pride herself with a string of awards she garnered from various award-giving bodies specially citing and commending her for her acting performances, unprecedented popularity, box-office stature and having a well-patronized loveteam. Some awards are the “2007 Box-office Queen”, “2007 USTV Students Choice Best Actress Award”, “2006 Princess of Phil. Movies” and “2006 Most Popular".

Like any other celebrity who have earned their names and have been considered top crowd-drawers and moneymakers, Bea Alonzo did not escape the advertisers’ meticulous eyes and impeccable scrutiny. She’s likewise considered to endorse a number of products in print and her face landed in the fad-growing billboard advertisements.

With a number of films credited to her name (about eight in all as of this writing) and a slew of television appearances either as a lead actress or merely a guest (a little over thirty and still counting), Bea Alonzo has definitely made herself felt in the business she has always dreamt of belonging. Her stint may still be considerably short but her name was already successfully carved in Philippine show business portals and a future legacy has a ready niche even at this early. And by leaps and bounds, Bea Alonzo is undoubtedly at her career’s peak!
